I hope you are enjoying long days at the beach and sultry summer nites by the water, sipping colourful drinks with little umbrellas in them! Still The Water headquarters took a well-deserved break to celebrate Canada’s birthday but now we are back in full force, thinking of wintry days (eek, I know, right?!) and hockey rinks.
We were unbelievably saddened to hear of an accident involving two of our island fishing boats – worse, I know one of the families involved, and have a special relationship with one of the sisters who lost her dad. She will always remain special to me. It breaks my heart and makes me all the more determined to make this amazing film and to bring the dangers of the lives of our island fishers to light.
In happier news, I had a fantastic, surreal time at the Banff World Media Festival in June, and met some really great folks who I am hoping will help me bring this as well as other poignant island stories to the screen.
I’ll keep you posted!
Enjoy those perfect summer nights! Soak them all in – stars and family and friends and joy.
Thinking of all of you and thanking you for your support of our very special film,
